The information on the descendants of Herbert d'Aigneaux, down to Michel Dagneau de Douville who came to Canada, unless otherwise indicated, has been taken from the work of Lionel Bonnetot (lionelbonnetot@normandnet.fr) (referred to as "Bonnetot' in the individual notes) and from the work of Laurent Rousselle (laurent.rouselle@freesbee.fr) (referred to as "Rousselle" in the individual notes) Sept 2004. Bonnetot refers to L'Histoire généalogique de ma Maison d'Aigneaux publiée en 1949 par l‘Abbé G.A. Simon avec le concurs de Marquis d'Aigneaux et du Baron de Beauusse. He notes the family crest is "d'azur, à trois agneaux d'argent, deux et un".
