Personal and Family Information

Louise was the daughter of unknown parents. The date and place of her birth have not been found.

She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband was Louis Antoine Césaire Dagneau dit Fontenay. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Antoine Césaire (1757-?).

Her second husband was Louis Brunet dit Létang, who she married on 26 JUN 1766. The place has not been found. They had no known children.

1766: L' Esclavage au Canada Français, Marcel Trudel:  Louise a Pawnee Indian, slave belonging to  Louis-Cesaire Dagneau-Douville Dequindre, age 31 years; after having been set free, m. Detroit 26-6-1766 Louis Brunet, 28 years, a resident of Detroit for the last 9 years, major, son of Louis Brunet, master-carpenter at Ste Charles-de-Lachenaie and Louise Parent.  Prior to her marriage, Louise had 3 natural children (sons), from 1757 to 1764.  The first two children remained in bondage while the mother obtained freedom for Antoine-Cesaire, panis Indian, b. and bpt. Detroit 11-5- 1757.

1766/06/26:  Detroit, Marriage, Louis Brunet b-1738 son Louis Brunet and Louise Parent married, Louise Pawnee Indian slave belonging to Louis Cesaire Dagneau Douville Dequindre b-1735.  Louise had three children (sons) between 1757 to 1764 likely from her owner and the first two remained in bondage while Antoine Cesaire b-May 11, 1757 was freed.
