Rudolf was born on 01 MAY 1218 in au château de Limbourg, the son of Albrecht IV von Habsburg and Heilwig von Kyburg.

He died on 15 JUL 1291 in Speyer, Rheinland-Pfalz, Deutschland .

He had three marriages/partners. His first wife was Gertrud Anna von Hohenberg, who he married in ABT 1245 in Elsass. Their nine known children were Mechtild (1251-1304), Albrecht (1255-1308), Katharina (c1256-1286), Agnes Gertrud (c1257-1322), Hedwig (<1261-1285/86), Hartmann (1263-1281), Rudolf (1270-1290), Guta (1271-1297) and Klementia (1262-1293).

His second wife is not known. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Albrecht (1255-1308).

His third wife was Isabelle de Bourgogne, who he married on 18 MAY 1284 in Besançon, Franche-Comté (France) . They had no known children.
