Ali was born about 17 MAR 0599 in Makkah (Mecca, مكة), Saudi Arabia , the son of Abū Tālib ibn ‘Abd al-Muttalib and Fatima bint Asad.
He died on 27 JAN 0661 in Kufa (Al-Kufah), Persia (now in Iraq) .
His wife was Fatima bint Muhammad. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Husein (0626-0680) and al-Hasan (0625-c0670).
