Judah was born in 1565 B.C. in Hebron (was Kirjath-Arba), West Bank, Palestine , the son of Jacob of Israel and Leah of Israel.

He died after 1440 B.C. in Raamses (Avaris), Goshen, Egypt .

He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Bathshua of Caanan, who he married in ABT 1769 B.C.. The place has not been found. Their three known children were Er (?-?), Onan (?-?) and Shelah (?-?).

His second wife was Tamar of Israel, who he married in 1739 B.C.. The place has not been found. Their two known children were Zarah (1738BC-?) and Parez (1738BC-c1638BC).
