Antiochus was born in 0143 B.C., the son of Demetrius II Nicator and Cleopatra Thea. The place is not known.

He died in 0096 B.C. in Antioch (Antakya), Hatay prov., Turkey .

He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Cleopatra Tryphæna. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Seleucus VI Epiphanes (?->0095BC).

His second wife was Cleopatra I Selene, who he married in 0103 B.C.. The place has not been found. They had no known children.
