Élisabeth was born on 11 JUL 1664 in Montréal QC , the daughter of Olivier Charbonneau and Marie-Marguerite Garnier.

She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband was André Cyr, who she married on 18 DEC 1679 in Église Saint-François-de-Sales (maint. Saint-François-de-Laval), Île-Jésus (Laval) QC . Their five known children were François (1681-1681), Jean-Baptiste (1682-1687), Marie (1684-1741), Joseph (1687-?) and Michel (1689-1736).

Her second husband was Joseph Barbeau dit Poitevin, who she married on 12 JUN 1690 in Lachenaie (Lachenaye, now in Terrebonne), Les Moulins, Lanaudière QC . Their three known children were Jean-Baptiste (1693-?), Michel (1696-1728) and Marie-Madeleine Claire (1698-1734).
