He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Ellisif Iaroslavna, who he married in 1045. The place has not been found. Their two known children were Ingeborg (c1065-?) and Maria (?-?).
His second wife was Thora Torbergsdatter de Vrjar, who he married in 1049. The place has not been found. Their three known children were Magnus (c1049-1069), Olav III (1053-1093) and Ingebjørg (?-?).
