Hélie was born about 1095 in Brimpsfield, Gloucestershire, England , the son of Hélie I Giffard and Ala d'Evreux.

He died about 1166. The place is not known.

His wife was Berthe de Clifford. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their three known children were Mathilde (1127-?), Hélie III (c1145-c1190) and Richard (?-?).
