Alexios was the son of Andronikos Dukas Angelos and Euphrosyne Kastamonitissa. The date and place of his birth have not been found.
He died after 1211 in Nicea (Νίκαια), Now Iznik, Turkey .
His wife was Euphrosyne Dukaina Kamaterina. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Eirene (c1172->1203).
