Marguerite was born in 1602 in La Rochelle, Charente-Maritime (prev. in Aunis), Poitou-Charentes, France , the daughter of Guillaume Langlois and Jeanne Millet.

She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband was Abraham Martin dit l'Écossois, who she married in 1620 in France. Their nine known children were Eustache (1621->1663), Marie Marguerite (1624-1679), Hélène (1627-<1653), Marie (1635-1699), Adrien (1638-?), Marie-Madeleine (1640-1688), Barbe (1643-1660), Anne (1645-1717) and Charles Amador (1648-1711).

Her second husband was René Branche, who she married on 17 FEB 1665 in Québec (ville) QC . They had no known children.
