Pierre was born in 1601 in Bourgueil, Chinon, Indre-et-Loire, Centre, France , the son of René Martin and Estiennette Poyrier.
His wife was Catherine Vignault, who he married on BEF 31 DEC 1642 in Port-Royal, Acadie (Now in Annapolis Co. NS) . Their four known children were Pierre (1626-?), Marie (1637-1714), Marguerite (1639-1707) and Andrée (1641-?).
