Aleksandr was born on 13 MAY 1221 in Pereslavl-Zalessky (Переславль-Залесский), Vladimir-Suzdal (now in Russia) , the son of unknown parents.

He died on 14 NOV 1263 in Gorodets-on-the-Volga (Городе́ц), Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia .

His wife was Aleksandra Brjatscheslawa Polotskeva, who he married in 1239. The place has not been found. Their only known child was saint Daniil Aleksandrovich (c1261-1303).
