Having arrived too early from Ottawa, I stayed with Don & Cathy Mahuran on Spencer Avenue until this location was vacated by my friends, Gail (Schramek) and Frank Iadipaolo from U. of Windsor days. It was in a good location in The Beach Area of Eastern Toronto, ocupying the first and second floors of a house with another tenant in the basement. I had to share with various roommates to afford to live there. I vacated when the landlord sold to people who pretended to renovate, forcing the former tenants out and doubling the rents.
I was unable to find a suitable place at the Beach, so I took a part of a triplex on Woodfield Road. Prices at the Beach had risen steeply in the time I was there.
