Otakar was born about 1233, the son of Václav I Přemysl and Kunigunde von Hohenstaufen. The place is not known.

He died on 26 AUG 1278 in Dürnkrut.

He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Maragarete von Österreich, who he married on 11 FEB 1252. The place has not been found. They had no known children.

His second wife was Kunigunda Rostislavna von Halicz, who he married on 25 OCT 1261 in Bratislava. Their four known children were Kunigunde (1269-1321), Agnes (1269-1296), Václav II (1271-1305) and Heinrich (1262-1263).
