Hartneid was born about 1344 in Losensteinleithen, Oberösterreich, the son of Hartneid I von Losenstein and Agnes Warspach.
He died in 1387. The place is not known.
His wife was Agnes von Polheim. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Bernhard I (?->1433) and Barbara (c1370-?).
