Personal and Family Information

Philipp was born on 21 FEB 1541 in Buchsweiler (now Bouxwiller), the son of Philipp IV von Hanau-Lichtenberg and Eleonore von Fürstenberg.

He died on 02 JUN 1599 in Niederbronn.

He had three marriages/partners. His first wife was Ludowika Margareta von Zweibrücken-Bitsch, who he married on 14 OCT 1560 in Bitsch. Their five known children were Johanna Sibylla (1564-1636), Philipp (1565-1572), Albrecht (1566-1577), Katharina (1568-1636) and Johann I Reinhard (1569-1625).

His second wife was Agathe von Limpurg-Obersontheim, who he married on 20 JUL 1586 in Buchsweiler (now Bouxwiller). Their four known children were Juliane (1574-1582), Eleonore (1576-?), Philipp (1579-1580) and Amalie (1582-1627).

His third wife was Katharina zu Wied, who he married on 18 FEB 1572 in Bitsch. Their two known children were Agathe (1587-c1605) and Reinhard (1589-1589).
