He died on 12 SEP 1558 in Schloss Mörtenegg.

His wife was Katharina von Gleinitz-Glenstutten. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their ten known children were Ludwig (1531-1540), Anna (1537-?), Salome (1547-1608), Georg III (<1534-1587), Sidonia (1545/46-?), Franz (1535-1561), Barbara (1538-?), Siegfried (1539/40-1540), Christina (1541-1541) and Florentina (1544-?).
