Adelina was born about 1649 in Clifton, Nottinghamshire, England, the daughter of Gervaise Clifton and Agnes Constable.
Her husband was Edward Stanhope. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was sir Michael (<1508-1552).
