Amy was born about 1497 in Desmond Castle, Kinsale, co Cork, Eire, the daughter of Turlogh Donn O'Brien and Raghnailt MacNamara.
She died in 1537 in Dingle.
She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband was James FitzMaurice FitzGerald. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Joan (c1509-1565) and Honora (?-1577).
Her second husband was Edmond FitzMaurice. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. They had no known children.
