Thomas was born in BET 1482 AND 1489 in Buckenham, Norfolk, England, the son of sir Edmund Knyvett and Eleanor Tyrrell.

He died on 10 AUG 1512 in sea near Brest.

His wife was Muriel Howard, who he married on BEF 9 JUL 1506. The place has not been found. Their six known children were Catherine (?-?), Anne (c1505-?), sir Edmund (c1507-1550/51), Ferdinado (1509-?), sir Henry (<1510-1547) and Anthony (?-?).
