Personal and Family Information

Friedrich was born on 11 JAN 1696 in Braunfels, the son of Wilhelm Moritz zu Solms-Greifenstein and Magdalene Sophie von Hessen-Homburg.

He died on 24 FEB 1761 in Braunfels.

He had three marriages/partners. His first wife was Magdalena Henriëtte oan Nassau-Weilburg, who he married in 1719 in Kirchheimbolanden. Their three known children were Ferdinand Wilhelm Ernst (1721-1783), Magdalena Polyxena Maria Casimira (1722-1722) and Charlotte Henriette Magdalena Wilhelmine (1725-1785).

His second wife was Sophie Magdalena Benigna zu Solms-Laubach-Utphe, who he married on 9 MAY 1726 in Utphe. Their eleven known children were Karl Ludwig Wilhelm (1727-1812), Elisabeth Marie Louise Benigna (1728-1795), Ulrike Luise (1731-1792), Wilhelm Christoph (1732-1811), Ludwig Rudolf Wilhelm (1733-1809), Amalie Eleonore (1734-1811), Alexander Wilhelm (1736-1738), Anton Wilhelm Friedrich (1739-1812), Karolina Albertina (1740-1742), Magdalena Sophie (1742-1819) and Christine Charlotte Friederike (1744-1823).

His third wife was Charlotte Katharina von Birkenfeld-Gelnhausen, who he married in 1745 in Gelnhausen. They had no known children.
