Erik was born about 1410 in Norway, the son of Semund Tyrgilsson Schancke but his mother is unknown.
He died in 1449. The place is not known.
His wife was Estrid Nilsdotterr Välingeätten. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Ingrid Eriksdotter (c1445-c1477) and Ragnhild Eriksdatter (1439-1529).
