Elizabeth was born about 1498 in Balveny, Fifeshire, Scotland, the daughter of Matthew Stewart and Elizabeth Hamilton.

She died in 1534 in Dunbarton castle, Strathclyde, Scotland.

Her husband was sir Hugh Campbell. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. They had no known children.
