He died in 1559 in Grünholt.
He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Anna Reventlow. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. They had no known children.
His second wife was Margrethe von Rantzau, who he married in 1550. The place has not been found. Their two known children were Sivert (c1550-1619) and Hans (>1550-1620).
