Joan was born about 1379 in château de Beaufort, Meuse-et-Loire, France, the daughter of John Plantagenêt and Katherine de Roët.

She died on 13 NOV 1440 in Howden, East Riding, Yorkshire, England.

She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband was Robert de Ferrers. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Elizabeth (c1378-c1434) and Margery (c1379-1458).

Her second husband was Ralph de Neville, who she married in 1396/97. The place has not been found.
