Joan was born about 1422 in Normandie, France, the daughter of William de Courcy and Margaret Peinnel.
She died in 1460 in Laughton, East Sussex, England.
Her husband was sir John Pelham. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their six known children were Catherine (c1425-1481), John (c1432-c1469), sir William (c1468-1538), Cecily (?-?), Elizabeth (?-?) and Thomas (c1452-1516).
