David was born about 1395 in Dunreath, Strathblane, Stirlingshire, Scotland, the son of sir John Edmondstone and Isabel Euphemia Stewart.
He died before 1426. The place is not known.
His wife was Agnes Maitland. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was James (c1425-?).
