Kristiern was born about 1355 in Brunsberg, the son of Broder Simonsson Leijonhufvud but his mother is unknown.
His wife was Margareta Waldemarsdotter af Folkunga. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Greger Kristiernsson (c1371->1413).
