His wife was Ingeborg Birgersdotter av Sverige, who he married in ABT 1270. The place has not been found. Their six known children were Helene (c1272->1332), Elisabeth (c1274-<1306), Erich I (c1275-1361), Johann II (c1280-1322), Sofie (c1284-1319) and Albrecht III (?-1308).
