Hendrik was born about 1336 in Bergen op Zoom, Noord Brabant, Nether Regions, the son of Hendrik VII van Boutershem and Maria van Wezemael.

He died in MAR 1419. The place is not known.

His wife was Beatrijs van Polanen, who he married on 13 MAY 1356. The place has not been found. Their five known children were Hendrik IX (c1365-1419), Johanna (c1367-?), Maria (c1371-c1400), Gerard (c1373-?) and Oda (c1375-1420).
