Helene was the daughter of Johann I von Braunschweig-Lüneburg and Liutgard von Holstein-Schauenburg. The date and place of her birth have not been found.
Her husband was Konrad III von Wernigerode, who she married in BEF 1315. The place has not been found. Their only known child was Konrad IV (c1310->1373).
