Thomas was born before 1596, the son of Walter Butler and Helen Butler. The place is not known.

He died on 15 DEC 1619 in off the Skerries near Anglesey.

His wife was Elizabeth Poyntz, who he married in 1608. The place has not been found. Their five known children were James (1610-1688), John (?-1636), Richard (1615-1701), Eleanor (?-1682) and Elizabeth (?-?).
