Joan was born about 1336 in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire, England, the daughter of Geoffrey IV de Saye and Maud de Beauchamp.

She died on 29 JUN 1378 in Canterbury, Kent, England.

She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband was sir William de Fiennes, who she married in BEF 1356. The place has not been found. Their two known children were sir William (1357-1402/03) and John (1357-1379).

Her second husband was sir Stephen de Valence, who she married in BEF 1370. The place has not been found. Their only known child was Joan (?-1420).
