Roger was born on 25 APR 1287 in Wigmore castle, Herefordshire, England , the son of Edmund Thomas de Mortimer and Margaret de Fiennes.

He died on 29 NOV 1330 in Tyburn, Middlesex, England.

His wife was Joan de Geneville, who he married on 20 SEP 1301. The place has not been found. Their twelve known children were sir Edmund (c1302-1331), Margaret (c1304-1337), Maud (c1307->1345), Roger (c1308-<1330), Geoffrey (c1309-<1376), John (c1310-1328), Joan (c1312-c1351), Isabel (c1313->1327), Katherine (c1314-<1369), Agnes (c1317-1368), Blanche (c1321-1347) and Beatrice (?-1383).
