Thomas was born about 1335 in Y Barri, Glamorgan, Glamorganshire, Galles, the son of Thomas de la Barre and Denise verch Hopkin.
He died about 1385. The place is not known.
His wife was Hawise Pembridge. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were sir Thomas (c1349-1420) and John (c1350-?).
