Walter was born about 1323 in Cubley, Uttoxeter, Derbyshire, England, the son of sir Walter de Montgomery and Johanna de Stafford.
He died after 1368. The place is not known.
His wife was Margaret Baskerville. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Nicholas (c1405-1435).
