Edmund was born about 1325 in Holme Pierrepont, Nottinghamshire, England, the son of Henry III de Pierrepont and Margaret FitzWilliams.

He died about 1370 in Gascogne, Midi-Pyrenées, France.

His wife was Joan Monbouchier, who he married in ABT 1348. The place has not been found. Their three known children were Henry Empson (1338-?), sir Edmund (c1350->1422) and Elizabeth (c1355-?).
