Thomas was born about 1328 in Heton, Northumberland, England, the son of sir Thomas II de Grey and Agnes de Beyle.

He died on 22 OCT 1369 in Buckenham castle, Norfolk, England.

His wife was Margaret Pressene. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their four known children were Elizabeth (c1353-1412), sir Thomas IV (1359-1399), Agnes (c1364-1420) and Joan (1368-?).
