Agnes was born about 1246 in Braunschweig, Niedersachsen, Deutschland , the daughter of Otto I von Braunschweig-Lüneburg and Mathilde von Brandenburg.

She died after 1302. The place is not known.

Her husband was Wizlaw II von Rügen, who she married in BET 1263 AND 1269. The place has not been found. Their eight known children were Wizlaw III (<1268-1325), Jaromar (c1267-c1294), Sambor (c1267-1304), Helene (c1270-1315), Margareta (c1270/71-c1318), Swantepolk (c1273->1285), Euphemia (c1280-1312) and Sophia (c1281->1302).
