Dorothea was born on 21 FEB 1575 in Hornstorf, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the daughter of Dietrich Blome and Elsabe von Rantzau.

She died in 1643. The place is not known.

Her husband was Friedrich von Ahlefeldt, who she married on 7 FEB 1592. The place has not been found. Their seven known children were Cai (1593-1652), Friedrich (1594-1657), Catharine (1595-1668), Elisabeth (c1596-1597), Didrik (1598-1618), Henrik (1599-?) and Bendix (1601-1669).
