His wife was Elisabeth von Nassau-Dillenburg, who he married on 1 FEB 1506. The place has not been found. Their ten known children were Friedrich (c1507-1568), Philipp (c1508-1535), Elisabeth (1509-1542), Johann IV (c1510-1581), Magdalena (c1514-1572), Margarethe (1516-1571), Walpurga (1518-1578), Agnes (1520-1588), Genovefa (c1522-1556) and Maria (c1522-1563).
