His wife was Agnes von Virneburg, who he married on BEF 19 NOV 1454. The place has not been found. Their eight known children were Adam (c1456-1483), Wilhelm III (c1458-1526), Dietrich VI (c1460-1507), Friedrich (c1463-1551), Johanna (c1468-1529), Hermann (1477-1552), Johann III (1485-1533) and Genovefa (?-<1488).
