Alfonso was born in 1394 in Medina del Campo, the son of Fernando I de Aragón and Leonor III Urraca Sánchez de Castilla.

He died on 27 JUN 1458 in Napoli (Naples, Neapolis, Neapel), Campania, Italia .

He had two marriages/partners. His first partner was Giraldona Carlino, but they were never married. Their three known children were Leonora (?-?), Ferrante I (1423-1494) and María (?-1449).
