Rudolf was born about 1284 in Wittenberg, the son of Albrecht II von Sachsen-Wittenberg and Agnes Gertrud von Habsburg.

He died on 11 MAR 1356. The place is not known.

He had three marriages/partners. His first wife was Jutta von Brandenburg, who he married in 1298. The place has not been found. Their eight known children were Otto (?-1350), Johann (?-?), Rudolf II (?-1370), Albrecht (?-1329), Elisabeth (?->1351), Anna (?-?), Agnes (c1310-1338) and Beatrix (?->1345).

His second wife was Kunigunde Piast, who he married on 28 AUG 1328. The place has not been found. Their only known child was Miesko (?-1350).

His third wife was Agnes von Lindau-Ruppin, who he married in BET 1331 AND 1333. The place has not been found. Their four known children were Wilhelm (?-?), Wenzel I (c1337-1388), Helene (?-1367) and Agnes (?-?).
