Ieuen was born in 1373 in Begansley, St. Mellons, Monmouthshire, Cymru, the son of Jenkin Kemeys and Crisli verch Morgan.
He died in 1402 in England.
His wife was Joan verch Ieuan. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their six known children were Morgan ap Ieuan (c1394-1447), Gwilym ap Ieuan (c1399-1458), John (c1400-c1430), Dafydd ap Ieuan (c1398-1483), Hywel ap Ieuan (c1400-?) and Harry (c1402-1447).
