Yuriy was born on 24 APR 1252 in Halycz-Volhynia, Poland, the son of Lev I Danilovich von Halicz and Constance de Hongrie.

He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Xenia Yaroslavna Tverskaya, who he married in 1282. The place has not been found. Their only known child was Michail (1283-1286).

His second wife was Eufemia Kujawska, who he married in BEF 1300. The place has not been found. Their four known children were Anastasia (1296-1364/65), Maria (<1293-1341), Andrei (?-1323) and Lev II (?-?).
