Filippa was born in 1257 in Susteren, Limburg, Nether Regions, the daughter of Otto II van Gelre and Philippe de Dammartin.
She died about 1294. The place is not known.
Her husband was Walram II van Valkenburg, who she married on BEF 30 MAY 1275. The place has not been found. Their five known children were Dirk III (1277-1309), Johanna (c1278-1324), Elisabeth (c1280-1330), Jan I (c1281-1356) and Reinoud I (1284-1333).
