Maud was born about 1318 in Thornton, Cheshire, England, the daughter of Piers de Thornton and Lucia Hellesby.

She died after 1365. The place is not known.

Her husband was sir Henry Donne. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Margaret (c1350->1418) and sir John (c1335-?).
