Henry was born about 1255 in Rosslyn castle, Roslin, Midlothian, Scotland, the son of sir William Sinclair and Amicia de Roskelyn.

He died in 1335/36. The place is not known.

His wife was Alice de Fenton. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their three known children were Margaret (c1332-c1418), William (1283->1325) and John (?-1330).
